Mongolian President Pays Tribute to 1916 Victims at Kyrgyzstan’s Ata-Beyit Memorial

As part of his official state visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh visited the Ata-Beyit Historical and Memorial Complex to honor the memory of those who perished during the tragic events of 1916.

President Khurelsukh was accompanied by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

Together, they laid a wreath at the memorial, paying solemn tribute to the victims of the national tragedy, which remains a poignant chapter in Kyrgyz history.

The Ata-Beyit complex, located near the capital Bishkek, serves as a powerful symbol of national remembrance. It commemorates not only the victims of the 1916 uprising against Tsarist Russia but also the political repressions of the 20th century.

President Khurelsukh arrived in Kyrgyzstan on July 20 for a multi-day state visit aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation between Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan. His official program includes high-level talks, bilateral agreement signings, and cultural engagements.
