A team of medical professionals from Qatar will return to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan this November to perform critical surgeries on children with hearing loss.
The initiative builds on a previous mission carried out in April, during which 26 children received cochlear implants-advanced electronic devices that can restore hearing for individuals with severe auditory impairments, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Patient selection is carried out in accordance with official guidelines established by a medical commission.
To date, over 200 children have undergone cochlear implant surgeries at the center, many of them thanks to ongoing collaboration with Qatari specialists.
In addition to surgical support, Qatar also finances the full rehabilitation process for the children, which includes essential post-operative care and auditory training.
