Several small hydroelectric power plants are scheduled to be commissioned in Kyrgyzstan by the end of 2025, according to Ashot Petrosyan, manager of the company supplying equipment for the plants.
He made the announcement during the 9th International Congress and Exhibition "Hydropower Central Asia and the Caspian 2025," held in Bishkek on April 9, The Caspian Post reports citing Akipress.
According to him, small hydroelectric power plants will be commissioned in Issyk-Kul region with a total capacity of 7 MW, in Chui region with 3 MW and in Jalal-Abad region with 5 MW.
He said that the Boz-Uchuk hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 5.4 MW with a pressure of 599 meters and a horizontal turbine is at the final stage of construction.
The Aksu station with a capacity of 4 MW is also being prepared for launch.
In addition, the construction of the Issyk-Ata 2 hydroelectric power station with a vertical turbine with a capacity of 4.5 MW is nearing completion.
