Slovakia’s and Kyrgyzstan’s ambassadors to Azerbaijan, Elchin Gasymov and Maksat Mamitkanov, have discussed opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation.
“Pleased to meet my colleague, Amb. Maksat Mamitkanov. Productive introductory discussions on regional matters and opportunities for our countries,” The Caspian Post reports via Gasymov's message on X.
Slovakia-Azerbaijan relations are based on diplomatic cooperation, trade, and energy dialogue. The two countries established diplomatic ties in 1993 and have since maintained constructive political contacts. Cooperation has focused primarily on the energy sector, with Slovakia viewing Azerbaijan as a reliable partner in diversifying energy supplies, particularly natural gas. Bilateral engagement also extends to trade, transport, and EU-Eastern Partnership dialogue, as Slovakia supports closer Azerbaijan-EU cooperation.
Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan relations are built on historical, cultural, and linguistic ties, as well as growing political and economic cooperation. The two countries established diplomatic relations in 1993 and have since developed steady dialogue at the governmental and parliamentary levels. Cooperation is advancing in trade, transport, education, culture, and humanitarian exchanges, supported by a shared Turkic heritage and close interaction within regional organizations.
