The next pension indexation in Kyrgyzstan will take place in October, First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev said during an interview with Birinchi Radio.
Amangeldiev said that the increase in the basic pension will depend on the actual revenues of the country’s national budget, The Caspian Post reports, citing 24.kg.
“By presidential instruction, pensions cannot be lower than the subsistence minimum, and we have achieved this figure since 2022-2023. The indexation of the basic pension this year will traditionally take place in October,” Amangeldiev said.
Earlier, Zhenishbek Mukambetov, head of the Social Fund, said that the minimum pension in Kyrgyzstan currently stands at 7,100 soms (approximately $81), while the average pension is 11,300 soms (approximately $129).
