Preparations are continuing for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the APEC summit, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The preparation for this meeting is confirmed. We are looking forward to this meeting," Peskov said, adding that Moscow looks forward to summit-level meetings with its Chinese partners every time, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.

The Russian president's schedule for the APEC summit is still being finalised, Peskov noted.

"We are in touch primarily with the organizers, with the Chinese side," the Kremlin spokesman said.

Peskov also noted that no details are currently available regarding a possible trilateral meeting involving Putin, Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump at the APEC summit.

"No exact details are available for the time being as regards the possible trilateral meeting," he added.
