A meeting took place at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Türkiye with a delegation led by Osman Mestan, Chair of the Türkiye-Uzbekistan Interparliamentary Friendship Group in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and a member of the Justice and Development Party.
The parties emphasized the stable nature of the strategic partnership between Tashkent and Ankara and expressed mutual interest in further expanding interparliamentary cooperation, The Caspian Post reports citing Uzbek media.
Special attention was given to the exchange of experiences in enhancing the effectiveness of legislative work, as well as to strengthening cooperation within international structures, such as the Organization of Turkic States and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic States.
The possibility of organizing a trilateral meeting between Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan was discussed as part of the upcoming gathering of friendship groups of Turkic-speaking states to be held in Türkiye this year.
In addition, participants emphasized the importance of cultural and humanitarian projects, including cooperation in education and support for the translation and publication of works by Uzbek authors into Turkish.
It was also noted that the implementation of a water management project in Uzbekistan, with the participation of a Turkish investor from Kayseri, will serve as an additional impetus for expanding the bilateral partnership.
