Turkish former Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is mourning the loss of his brother, businessman Aydın Çavuşoğlu, who has died after sustaining a gunshot wound in his office in Alanya, Antalya.

The news was confirmed by Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, The Caspian Post reports via Haberler.com.

In a statement shared publicly, Ersoy expressed deep sorrow over the death of Aydın Çavuşoğlu and extended condolences to Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, his family, relatives, and loved ones.

Aydın Çavuşoğlu was reportedly found with a gunshot wound in his office on May 5 in the Alanya district. The 52-year-old businessman was taken to hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.
