Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has begun a three-day official visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
This is Wang Yi’s second visit to the country in the past three years, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
During his visit, Wang Yi is set to co-chair the 6th round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue with Deputy Prime Minister Dar, with discussions expected to focus on political, economic, and security cooperation between the two nations.
Upon his arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, Wang Yi was warmly received by Deputy Prime Minister Dar, alongside senior officials from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy. Children in traditional dress presented flowers to the visiting dignitary as part of the welcome ceremony.
A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, is leading the delegation for the strategic dialogue, underscoring the two countries’ ongoing commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
