Drone Attack Targets Vessel Carrying Azerbaijani Nationals off Odesa Coast

A civilian merchant vessel carrying Azerbaijani citizens came under a drone attack off the coast of Ukraine's Odesa region, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, the attack took place at around 3:15 p.m. local time on July 14. The targeted vessel, Atlas Bey, is owned by the Turkish company Okean Maritime, The Caspian Post reports.

The ministry said there were 11 Azerbaijani citizens on board at the time of the attack. According to the available information, all crew members except the vessel's captain, who is an Azerbaijani citizen, have been brought ashore in Odesa and are in satisfactory condition.

Search efforts to locate the captain are ongoing.

The Azerbaijani Embassy in Ukraine remains in constant contact with the relevant authorities and is taking the necessary measures to provide consular assistance to Azerbaijani citizens affected by the incident.
