A fire broke out at a six-story hotel in Bakırköy district in Türkiye's Istanbul on September 5, leaving 12 people injured and prompting a large-scale evacuation.
The blaze started on the first floor of the hotel for an unknown reason before rapidly spreading to the upper floors. Flames also reached the building’s facade, according to TRT Haber.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and began evacuating people trapped inside the hotel. Seven people were rescued from the upper floors as emergency crews worked to bring the fire under control.
The blaze was completely extinguished approximately one hour after firefighting operations began.
