Kazakhstan’s National Met Office, Kazhydromet, has issued a weather forecast for December 7-9, warning of unstable weather conditions due to a northern cyclone.

A trough to the northern cyclone is to bring unstable weather conditions to a larger part of the country. Snow and blizzard are to pummel the country, with heavy snow expected in the east. The country is also to brace for sleet in the south as well as heavy precipitation in the mountainous areas, The Caspian News reports, citing Kazakh media.

Black ice is to hit the eastern, southern and central parts of Kazakhstan. Precipitation is to come to an end due to the extensive Scandinavian anticyclone in the country’s west and northwest.

Night temperatures are expected to plummet as low as -5 to -13C in the west, -13 to -25C in the northwest, -20 to -25C in the north, -15 to -28C in the center, -18 to -26C in the east and -8 to -21C in the south and southeast.
