"Armenia and Azerbaijan, as sovereign states, have the right to build relations with different countries," said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, while commenting on U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance's recent visit to the South Caucasus countries.
Peskov was asked whether the Kremlin is concerned about the deepening cooperation between the South Caucasus countries and the United States, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.
"These are sovereign states, and they have the sovereign right to build relations with different countries. We have a huge complex of bilateral relations with both Baku and Yerevan. Of course, we intend to continue developing our relations with our partners," Peskov said.
