A major forest fire has broken out in Gölbaşı district of Türkiye's Ankara city, with flames spreading through a wooded area near the Çiçek Kent residential complex in the Taşpınar neighborhood.
Fire crews, water tankers, specialized equipment and police TOMA water cannons have been deployed to the scene. A helicopter is also taking part in aerial firefighting efforts, TRT Haber reports.
Authorities are evacuating residents from nearby homes and residential complexes as a precaution.
Security forces have also closed access roads to the affected area while firefighting operations continue.
