Amid Iranian attacks, the North Atlantic Alliance has deployed an additional Patriot air defense system in Malatya, Türkiye, according to the Ministry of National Defense.

The escalation of the conflict involving Israel, Iran, and the United States has also affected Türkiye, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.

“NATO has strengthened its air and missile defense measures. As part of these measures, a Patriot system has been deployed in Malatya to help protect our airspace,” the statement said.

Previously, Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense said that on Monday, NATO air defense systems shot down a ballistic missile launched from Iran in Turkish airspace.

On March 4, NATO forces reportedly intercepted a ballistic missile that was heading toward Turkey from Iran.

Türkiye has also deployed six F-16 fighter jets and air defense systems in Northern Cyprus.
