Netanyahu Urges Trump to Block US Weapons Sales to Türkiye

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged US President Donald Trump not to approve the sale of American weapons systems to Türkiye, citing concerns over Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's anti-Israel stance.

"Netanyahu made the request, and the president listened", The Caspian Post reports via Israel's N12.

According to the report, Netanyahu warned that access to advanced US weapons-particularly F-35 fighter jets-would significantly strengthen Türkiye's air force.

The report comes ahead of Trump's expected visit to Türkiye for meetings with President Erdoğan and NATO leaders in Ankara. Among the issues reportedly expected to be discussed are a $700 million deal to supply engines for Turkish fighter jets and the possibility of Türkiye rejoining the F-35 fighter jet program.
