Russian diesel fuel could reach the US within the next two weeks, potentially before the November 3 congressional midterm elections.
Russia has agreed to supply a “fairly substantial” volume of diesel fuel. Deliveries could begin if the two sides complete the necessary formalities in time, according to strana.ua.
The reported deal would mark a significant development in US-Russia energy trade, although the timing and volume of any shipments remain uncertain.
Experts estimate that a potential diesel agreement involving US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin could generate up to $4 billion in revenue for Moscow.
