Russia’s St. Petersburg Moves to Extend Ban on Migrant Taxi Workers

Authorities in St. Petersburg plan to extend until the end of 2027 a ban on employing foreign workers who hold work patents in taxi and delivery services.

According to a draft resolution published by the city administration, the proposed extension would prohibit migrants from working in passenger taxi services, chauffeur-driven car rental services and courier delivery, including food delivery, said St. Petersburg administration, The Caspian Post reports.

The draft resolution is currently undergoing an anti-corruption review.
