Russian Serviceman Hospitalized in Armenia After Shooting Himself

On July 10, at approximately 19:00, a man with a gunshot wound to the head was admitted to the Gyumri Medical Center, Armenia.

According to hospital staff, the man underwent surgery and is currently in intensive care in a coma. His condition is reported as critical, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.

Preliminary information identifies the victim as Aleksey K., born in 2002, a serviceman of the Russian 102nd Military Base located in Gyumri, according to the medics.

Initial reports suggest that the gunshot wound was allegedly self-inflicted, according to medics.

Ministry of Interior spokesperson Narek Sargsyan told Armenpress that police have been notified about the incident by the hospital.
