Severe winds and a storm have caused extensive damage in the Turkish provinces of Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa.

As a result of the storm in Şanlıurfa, one person was killed, and several others sustained minor injuries, The Caspian Post reports.

In Gaziantep, 23 people were injured due to the adverse weather conditions.

During the storm in Gaziantep, the Allebun River overflowed, roofs were torn off in some areas, and a tornado damaged vehicles in the Oğuzeli district.

The Gaziantep Provincial Directorate has declared a state of emergency in the area.

As a result of the storm, 39 schools in the Şahinbey, Şehitkamil, Nizip, and Yavuzeli districts sustained minor damage.
