Turkish authorities have detained 10 people suspected of involvement in the FETÖ organization during coordinated counterterrorism operations across three provinces.
The simultaneous raids were conducted in Istanbul, Aydın and Izmir by Istanbul Police Department’s Counterterrorism Unit, working alongside intelligence officers, TRT Haber reports.
According to investigators, the suspects had previously held senior positions within the organization’s financial structure, used the ByLock messaging application and participated in fundraising activities.
Authorities believe the suspects had renewed contact with former members of the organization and businesspeople in an effort to secure funding for its activities.
During searches, law enforcement officers seized Turkish lira, foreign currencies and gold worth a total of 12.852 million lira (approximately $321,000).
Ten detainees have been taken to police headquarters for further questioning and investigative procedures.
