Türkiye Puts TULPAR Armored Vehicle Through Firing Tests

Turkish defense company Otokar and Italy’s Leonardo have successfully completed the integration and firing tests of the TULPAR tracked armored vehicle equipped with the 120mm HITFACT MkII turret.

The companies integrated the platform and turret’s mechanical, electrical, electronic and software systems as part of the project, TRT Haber reports.

The testing program included live-fire trials in both stationary and dynamic conditions across a range of scenarios. According to the report, the fire-control and stabilization systems, as well as the main gun itself, demonstrated their stated performance.

Leonardo Vice President Luca Perazzo said the HITFACT MkII is the world’s only turret featuring a 120mm smoothbore gun that can be installed on light and medium armored platforms and use Vulcano 120 guided ammunition.

The successful tests mark a further step in the development of the TULPAR as a tracked armored platform capable of carrying a large-caliber turret while integrating advanced fire-control and stabilization systems.
