Ukraine Strikes Two Russian Oil Refineries with Long-Range Drones

Ukraine says its long-range drones have struck two major oil refineries deep inside Russian territory, in what President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described as another effort to weaken Moscow’s war-fighting capabilities.

The recent operation targeted oil-processing facilities in Russia’s Krasnodar and Yaroslavl regions, with one of the strikes reaching approximately 700 kilometers (435 miles) from the Ukrainian border, The Caspian Post reports via RBC-Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy confirmed the attacks on Ukraine’s Constitution Day, saying the operations were aimed at reducing resources available to support Russia’s military campaign.

One of the reported targets was the Slavyansk oil refinery in the Krasnodar region. Local reports described multiple explosions followed by a large fire, with thick smoke rising above the facility. Preliminary information indicated that several fuel storage tanks were affected.

In a separate operation, Ukrainian drones reportedly reached an oil refinery in Russia’s Yaroslavl region, demonstrating the growing range of Kyiv’s domestically developed strike capabilities.

“We continue operations that weaken Russia’s ability to wage war,” Zelenskyy said, arguing that attacks on energy infrastructure reduce the resources available to Moscow’s military.

The latest strikes are part of Ukraine’s expanding drone campaign against Russian energy and industrial facilities. In recent months, Kyiv has increasingly targeted refineries, fuel depots, and processing plants far from the front lines in an effort to disrupt fuel supplies and increase pressure on Russia’s economy.
