Uzbekistan Drops Two Places in Latest FIFA Rankings

In the most recent update of the FIFA rankings, Uzbekistan’s national football team has fallen two positions, according to the January release.

The team now holds 52nd place with a total of 1,462.03 points, ranking between Costa Rica (51st) and Peru (53rd), The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

Within the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) rankings, Uzbekistan remains in fifth place, with Japan, Iran, the Republic of Korea, and Australia occupying higher spots.

Among Central Asian nations, Uzbekistan leads the region, followed by Tajikistan (100th), Kyrgyzstan (103rd), Kazakhstan (114th), and Turkmenistan (137th).

The top spots in the global rankings are held by Spain, Argentina, and France.
