Four representatives from Tajikistan have triumphed in the international online chess tournament series The Road to Dushanbe, held on the WorldChess platform.

After eight competitive stages, Shohdzhakhon Saidov (19) claimed first place, Yasmina Yusupova (12) ranked among the top five, Shukrona Masxabova (19) was named Best Female Player, and Khurshed Boboev (61) received the Best Veteran title, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

The series brought together more than 300 players from 20 countries, including a record 170 participants from Tajikistan - the highest number among all nations. According to the Tajikistan Chess Federation, this remarkable achievement highlights the country’s growing chess movement and the increasing interest of young people in intellectual sports.

The Federation noted that The Road to Dushanbe project has become a model of sports digitalization, enabling Tajik players to compete internationally, gain experience, and improve their ratings without leaving the country.

All winners have been officially invited to participate in the upcoming President’s Cup of Tajikistan, with complimentary accommodation and waived participation fees.

The President’s Cup International Chess Tournament will take place in Dushanbe from November 9 to 17, featuring a $50,000 prize fund. Matches will follow the Swiss system over nine rounds, with renowned chess players from around the world set to compete.
