The Kazakh Film Days have kicked off in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe, featuring three acclaimed films that highlight the richness of Kazakhstan’s cinema.
The event runs from October 28 to 30 at the Vatan cinema, with free admission and screenings starting at 5:00 (GMT+5) each evening, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
October 28 - Time of Patriots
Genre: Drama
Director: Serikbol Utebergenov
The opening film, Time of Patriots, tells the story of two brothers, Sultan and Bekzat, who carry on their family’s proud military legacy. Sultan serves as a decorated intelligence officer, while Bekzat is a talented fighter pilot. Despite being the sons of a national hero who sacrificed his life in service, the brothers find it difficult to connect. Their relationship is tested when an international terrorist group threatens national security, forcing them to unite in the face of danger - and ultimately realize that family, love, and homeland are the greatest treasures of all.
October 29 - Wrestler. Khasymukan - World Champion

Wrestler. Khasymukan - World Champion portrays the remarkable life of Kazakh wrestling legend Khasymukan Munaytpasov, who overcame humble beginnings in rural Kazakhstan to achieve global fame. The film traces his rise from poverty to international triumph, capturing his unwavering determination, strength, and perseverance on the road to becoming a world champion.
October 30 - Amre

The closing film, Amre, tells the moving story of Amre Kashaubaev, a Kazakh musical prodigy whose talent left a lasting mark on world culture. Renowned for introducing Kazakh vocal art and the dombra to European audiences, Kashaubaev stunned the crowd at the 1925 World Music Competition in Paris, earning a silver medal as part of the Soviet delegation. Though his life was brief, his extraordinary performance secured him a place in the history of global music.
