Tajik Leader Opens Key Factories to Drive Local Growth

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has visited Vahdat Township to inaugurate several new industrial facilities aimed at boosting local production and creating jobs.

A centerpiece of the visit was the opening of the TALANT brick factory - the only facility in Tajikistan featuring a retractable roof, enabling year-round operations, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

Established by entrepreneur Muhammadi Qodirzoda and his brothers, the factory boasts a daily production capacity of up to 250,000 fired bricks and currently employs 60 workers, the presidential press service reported. Equipped with advanced technologies including robotics and multifunctional machinery, the plant produces “Elok” brand bricks that meet international quality standards, using raw materials such as white sand, red clay, and coal sand.

Located on a three-hectare site along the Dushanbe-Kulob-Khorog highway, the factory complex also includes office and service facilities. President Rahmon emphasized the project’s vital contribution to industrialization, economic growth, and job creation in the region.

In addition, President Rahmon launched operations at Zinnat Gach LLC, a new industrial enterprise led by local businessman Abdulhafiz Rahimov. The factory produces 14 types of construction materials, including gypsum boards, plaster, paints, and adhesives, all complying with international quality standards. Approximately 75 per cent of the raw materials are sourced domestically, supporting import substitution efforts. The facility features modern foreign-made equipment and aims to produce up to 1 million gypsum boards and 50 tons of other products annually. Currently employing 40 people, the workforce is expected to increase to 100.

President Rahmon highlighted the strategic importance of this new enterprise in advancing Tajikistan’s industrialization, stimulating economic development, and ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources.
