Tajikistan's Somon Air launches new direct flights from Dushanbe to Russia's Mineralnye Vody

Tajikistan’s private airline Somon Air has announced a new direct flight route connecting Dushanbe and Mineralnye Vody, Russia, with the first flight set for November 30, 2025.

Flights will operate once a week, every Sunday, as part of Somon Air’s strategy to expand its route network and boost air connectivity between Tajikistan and Russia, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

Ticket prices for the inaugural flight start at 2,350 somonis for economy class and 5,090 somonis ($55) for business class. The journey, lasting 3 hours and 40 minutes, will be operated by a Boeing 737-900NG.

Mineralnye Vody, located in Russia’s Stavropol Krai, is a gateway to the Caucasian Mineral Waters resort region, known for its calm atmosphere and scenic beauty. Visitors can enjoy hiking up Mount Zmeyka, explore the city park and Ferris wheel, or take short trips to nearby spa towns such as Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk, and Yessentuki - each famous for their mineral springs and mountain views.

Local cuisine in the area highlights North Caucasian and Georgian flavors, with popular dishes including shashlik, khachapuri, khinkali, and pilaw, offering travelers a taste of regional hospitality.
