Tajikistan Unveils Major Export Boost Program with New Support Centers and Schools

First Deputy Director of the Tajik Export Agency Khurshed Zuhurzoda has announced that Tajikistan officially launched a comprehensive program aimed at boosting export growth through the creation of specialized export support centers and the establishment of Export Schools across various regions.

Zuhurzoda made these remarks during a press conference, The Caspian Post reports, citing Tajik media.

Supported by the World Bank, this initiative is designed to enhance access for domestic products to international markets while strengthening Tajikistan’s overall economic potential. The program holds particular importance for small-scale producers - notably about 200,000 farming households - who often lack the resources and expertise to independently manage export operations.

At the heart of the project is the development of infrastructure that provides practical support to entrepreneurs. The initiative is based on the approved Concept for the Development of Export Support Centers and Export Schools, which aims to offer thorough assistance to local manufacturers and businesspeople.

The program includes comprehensive training on skills needed to enter international markets, along with consultations on critical areas such as certification, logistics, customs clearance, and legal regulations. It also focuses on aiding exporters in finding foreign partners, promoting Tajik goods on global platforms, and facilitating participation in exhibitions and business forums. A key goal is to establish a sustainable brand identity and increase international recognition of Tajik products.

Thanks to a significant grant from the World Bank, funding will cover not only the construction and outfitting of export centers but also the overall implementation of the program. The first export support centers are scheduled to open by the end of 2025 in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and Khatlon Region.

According to recent statistics, Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover in the first half of 2025 surpassed $4.7 million - a 7.2 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
