During a working visit to Sughd province, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon unveiled a series of major industrial and social projects, from a modern Smart TV plant to new hospitals and schools.
These initiatives signal a significant boost for local development and job creation, The Caspian Post informs via Tajik media.
Smart TV Plant “Faiz Noor-TV” Opens in Istaravshan
A new assembly plant under the national brand Noor has begun operating in Istaravshan’s Industrial Zone #2. Built with an investment of 6 million somonis, the facility includes four workshops, a warehouse, a cafeteria, and administrative offices.
The plant currently manufactures Smart TVs and household appliances, with plans to expand into refrigerators, air conditioners, heaters, vacuum cleaners, and washing machines. Its annual capacity will reach up to 40,000 units, creating 50 permanent jobs with salaries up to 3,000 somonis.
Khavatag Water Plant Launches With Healing Mineral Water
President Rahmon also inaugurated the Khavatag water production plant, which produces 20,000 liters of natural healing water per day using Chinese technology. Bottled in 0.5, 1, and 1.5-liter containers, the water is extracted from a depth of 1,580 meters. Future plans include switching to glass bottles and building the Khavatag resort, expected to create 100 more jobs and offer therapeutic services.
New Furniture Factory Boosts Local Industry
The Asri Obod furniture factory also opened its doors, featuring 8 workshops and producing around 30 types of furniture. The factory employs more than 50 residents and is expected to expand further.
10 New Social Facilities: Schools, Clinics, Bank Branch
In a virtual ceremony, President Rahmon launched 10 new social and community facilities in Istaravshan. These include:
Two new medical centers
A new branch of Sanoatsodirotbonk, providing 30+ jobs
Four schools (#5, 46, 62, 69) for over 4,000 pupils
Three kindergartens for 400 children
