Turkmen Leader Hails Swiss National Day with Message of Friendship

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent a congratulatory message to Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter on the occasion of the Swiss National Day, extending warm wishes for her health, happiness, and continued success.

He also extended his best wishes for peace, progress, and prosperity to the people of the Swiss Confederation, The Caspian Post reports per Turkmen media.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Switzerland were formally established in 1992. Notably, Switzerland was among the first countries which recognized Turkmenistan’s independence.

Swiss National Day, celebrated annually on August 1, commemorates the 1291 alliance of the cantons Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden-an event regarded as the foundation of the modern Swiss state.
