Turkmen Students Train at China University of Petroleum

A group of students from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International of Oil and Gas University is currently participating in an industry internship at the China University of Petroleum in Beijing.

Running from June 29 to July 20, the program is designed to expose students to advanced technologies and best practices in the oil and gas sector, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

This internship is part of the Memorandums of Understanding signed in 2023 between the International University of Oil and Gas, the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), and the China University of Petroleum (Beijing). The collaboration aims to prepare highly skilled professionals for Turkmenistan’s oil and gas industry while offering insights into global industry standards.

The China University of Petroleum has developed a tailored three-week curriculum for the Turkmen students, featuring lectures, laboratory and training center tours, and visits to CNPC’s production facilities. Alongside technical training, participants will engage in short courses covering Chinese language and culture, as well as topical energy themes such as “Green Energy and Carbon Emission Reduction,” “The Future of Oil and Gas,” and “Energy Cooperation along the Silk Road.”

Simultaneously, a second group of students from the International University of Oil and Gas is undergoing summer industrial training at CNPC’s “International Ltd” branch facilities in Turkmenistan during June and July.

This exchange program not only advances the professional skills of future specialists but also enhances international cooperation in the energy sector between Turkmenistan and China.
