Turkmenistan, France’s IGN FI Map out Future Ties in Agriculture Cooperation

As part of the celebrations marking the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has met with Chairman of the Board of the French IGN FI company Olivier Deloumeau.

Deloumeau, visiting Turkmenistan for the first time, extended his congratulations to the president on the occasion and praised both Ashgabat’s architectural beauty and the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

He also lauded the country’s dynamic progress in social and economic development.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the agro-industrial sector, which was identified as a key area for ensuring food security and sustainable economic growth.

President Berdimuhamedov emphasized Turkmenistan’s commitment to modernizing its agriculture sector through the introduction of advanced technologies, improved land management, and increased crop productivity. In this context, he highlighted the strategic importance of collaborating with international companies such as IGN FI, which specialize in innovative solutions like digital mapping, geospatial analysis, and precision agriculture.

Both sides agreed that the digital transformation of agriculture offers significant potential for boosting yields, optimizing resource use, and supporting rural development. The president also welcomed proposals from IGN FI aimed at expanding cooperation and expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to facilitate joint initiatives.

For his part, Deloumeau expressed IGN FI’s strong interest in contributing to Turkmenistan’s agricultural modernization through technology-driven partnerships and joint projects.

Concluding the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov wished the French executive success in his work and reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s intention to deepen its ties with international partners, particularly in sectors critical to sustainable development.
