Esen Aydogdyev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, has met with Mikhail Fradkov, Director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISI), for high-level talks focused on the current state and future of the Turkmenistan-Russia relations.
The meeting highlighted both nations' shared commitment to deepening their strategic partnership, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.
Particular attention was given to boosting collaboration between expert and analytical institutions in Turkmenistan and Russia-an area seen as crucial for developing long-term cooperation and mutual understanding.
Fradkov, a Russian politician and diplomat, brings considerable influence to such discussions. He previously served as Prime Minister of Russia (2004-2007) and Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (2007-2016), before taking the helm at RISI in 2016.
The Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, a key government-affiliated think tank, plays a vital role in shaping foreign policy analysis, offering strategic insights to decision-makers. Its meetings with foreign diplomats often serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas, strategic outlooks, and policy alignment on global and regional challenges.
The dialogue between Ambassador Aydogdyev and Director Fradkov underscores the strong foundation of trust between Ashgabat and Moscow, and signals a shared desire to expand cooperation across diplomatic, analytical, and geopolitical spheres.
