The Embassy of India in Tashkent has commemorated the 79th anniversary of India’s Independence with a vibrant and heartfelt celebration.
The event attracted approximately 250 attendees, including members of the Indian community in Uzbekistan, friends of India, and representatives of local media, The Caspian Post reports per Uzbek media.
India’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Ms. Smita Pant, proudly hoisted the Indian national flag and read a message from the president of India, addressing the nation on this special occasion.
In her remarks, Pant highlighted the steady advancement of bilateral relations between India and Uzbekistan, underscoring the dynamic dialogue between their leaders. She referenced a recent phone conversation held on August 12, 2025, which further strengthened ties between the two countries.
Following the formal proceedings, guests were treated to an impressive solo tabla performance by Shri Arshad Khan, a respected instructor from the Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture.
The celebration concluded on a joyful note with a group photograph, symbolizing the enduring friendship and cultural exchange between India and Uzbekistan.
