A new special industrial zone, Nurabad Technopark, is set to be established in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan, following a Presidential decree (No. PQ-243) issued on August 4, 2025.
This initiative is aimed at improving the investment climate and achieving key industrial development goals in the Nurabad district over the period from 2025 to 2030, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The project plans to attract approximately $1.1 billion in foreign direct investment to support the production of high-tech and globally competitive products. The technopark is expected to create around 5,100 permanent jobs, boosting employment opportunities in the region.
Spanning 115.3 hectares in the Sazagon area, the land designated for the technopark has been transferred from the Urgut Free Economic Zone for this development.
Management of the new industrial zone has been assigned to the foreign limited liability company New Vision Investment Development. One of the company’s primary tasks will be the construction of modern, 3-4-story manufacturing facilities designed to accommodate future enterprises.
