South Korea’s AHA to Build $20 Million Manufacturing Plant in Uzbekistan

South Korea's AHA Co., Ltd. will open a $20 million manufacturing facility in Uzbekistan's Fergana region in September to produce interactive electronic boards, electric vehicle chargers, and medical equipment for both domestic and export markets.

This was reflected in the statement by the Fergana Regional Administration, Trend reported.

The project was discussed during a meeting between Fergana Governor Khayrullo Bozorov and a delegation led by AHA Co., Ltd. CEO Koo Gi Do, which also included representatives of the company's Chinese partners.

According to the regional administration, construction of the facility in Eco City is nearing completion, with commissioning scheduled for September.

"The production facility is planned to be commissioned in September this year," Koo Gi Do said, according to the regional administration.

The new plant will manufacture interactive flat-panel displays (IFPDs), electric vehicle charging equipment, medical devices and other products, targeting both Uzbekistan's domestic market and export destinations.

The meeting also covered joint initiatives in information technology and education, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation through new investment projects.

Koo said the company is working with Chinese partners to establish local production of components and spare parts while also seeking grant financing for projects in the education and information technology sectors.

Bozorov praised the South Korean investor's progress in implementing the project and welcomed its efforts to attract additional international partners to the region. He reaffirmed the regional government's commitment to supporting foreign investors and facilitating the implementation of promising investment initiatives.

The parties also reviewed the remaining steps required to complete the project and begin operations, with regional officials instructed to promptly address outstanding implementation issues.

The investment reflects Uzbekistan's broader strategy of attracting foreign manufacturers, expanding high-value industrial production and increasing exports through localized manufacturing and international technology partnerships.
