During the state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan, a ceremony has been held in Islamabad to name one of the city’s streets “Tashkent” and to assign the name of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur to a newly established park.
Speaking at the event, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the decision reflects the deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations and once again underscores the strategic nature of the multifaceted Uzbek-Pakistani partnership, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
It was emphasized that Tashkent Street and the Babur Park will serve as visible symbols of the two countries’ shared commitment to further strengthening friendship, mutual respect, and understanding between their peoples, reinforcing cultural diplomacy alongside growing political and economic cooperation.
