US Mining Giant Traxys to Open Office in Uzbekistan

American commodities trader Traxys is set to open a new office in Uzbekistan, signaling a deeper expansion of US business presence in the country’s strategic minerals sector.

The announcement was made by Traxys Vice President Dineen Kennedy during a meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Kennedy emphasized that cooperation between the company and Uzbekistan has been developing on the basis of mutual trust and long-term strategic interests, particularly in the field of critical minerals, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Over the past year, key agreements on the export of strategic resources have been reached, marking a new stage in strengthening economic ties. “For Traxys, Uzbekistan is already one of our priority and strategically important partners,” Kennedy stated, highlighting the positive experience of collaboration and the effectiveness of joint projects.

The company has worked closely with the Navoi Uranium Combine and the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant and is now preparing to launch new initiatives. Among the promising areas are the development of a cluster approach for tungsten and molybdenum production, as well as exploration and development of black shale deposits.

Kennedy confirmed that a new Traxys office will soon open in Tashkent and expressed hope that President Mirziyoyev will attend the opening ceremony - a move seen as a symbolic milestone in bilateral cooperation.

A high-level company delegation is also expected to visit Uzbekistan next week to discuss the implementation of new joint projects.
