Uzbek Culture Showcased at Abu Dhabi Festival

A festival celebrating national traditions was held at New York University in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with students from Uzbekistan participating.

The branch of New York University in Abu Dhabi is one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the region, where students from more than 115 countries are represented, The Caspian Post reports citing Uzbek media.

The cuisine, customs, and tourism potential of more than ten countries were presented as part of the festival held at the university.

About 30 students from Uzbekistan organized a national stand, demonstrating the country’s rich cultural heritage. The guests were presented with dishes of Uzbek cuisine, handicrafts, wood carvings, and miniatures. The performances of artists, in particular the folk dance “Andijan Polka”, aroused particular interest among the participants.

During the festival, participants had the opportunity to become acquainted with Uzbekistan’s culture and learn about the country’s tourism potential. The event was attended by representatives from academic circles, the diplomatic corps, and the media.
