Uzbekistan's customs officials have stopped an attempt to illegally take $240,000 out of the country at the Navoi border customs checkpoint in Tashkent Region.

Two female citizens of a neighboring country were detained during the operation, Gazeta.uz reports.

A search revealed $80,000 concealed on one of the women and $160,000 on the other.

The cash had reportedly been wrapped in bundles, secured to their lower legs with tape and hidden underneath their clothing.

Footage released by the Customs Committee shows officials removing the tightly packaged bundles of banknotes from the women’s legs during the inspection.
