Uzbek Delegation Visits Germany to Explore Rural Entrepreneurship Best Practices

A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davronbek Kurbanov, has visited Germany to study successful models of rural entrepreneurship, including business incubators, mentorship programs, and small enterprise support systems, with the aim of adapting these practices to boost rural economic development in Uzbekistan.

The visit was made as part of the Fergana Valley Rural Enterprise Development Project, jointly implemented with the World Bank, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

The trip aims to study German expertise in business incubators, mentorship programs, and small enterprise support, with plans to adapt these practices for Uzbekistan’s rural economy.

In Munich, the delegation met with leaders of the Bavarian East-West Business Forum (OWWFB) and international business development expert Mursal Noorzai. Established in 2016 from the merger of OWWC (1968) and DOM (1991), the forum serves as a key platform for Bavaria’s economic cooperation with European and neighboring countries.

Discussions focused on agricultural product processing, expanding export opportunities, and applying German best practices in consumer goods production. The Uzbek delegation emphasized that these insights could boost rural business development in the country. Both sides agreed to organize joint workshops, knowledge exchanges, and direct mentoring collaborations.

On the second day, the delegation met with Michael Jaeger, President of the Taxpayers Association of Europe, which represents over a million members from 29 EU countries and advocates for low taxes and high economic freedom.

During the meeting, Kurbanov highlighted Uzbekistan’s investment potential in the textile and jewelry sectors and proposed new avenues for collaboration with German businesses.

The two sides also agreed that a German delegation would visit Uzbekistan in March 2026, including representatives of the Taxpayers Association, investors, importers, and journalists. German experts will participate in presentations at the international conference under the Fergana Valley rural entrepreneurship development project.
