Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Shokhrukh Daliyev, has met with the leadership of Óbuda University in Budapest, Hungary to discuss ways to expand academic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties in higher education through student and faculty exchanges, joint degree programs, and collaborative scientific research, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
Both sides expressed a shared commitment to developing structured and sustainable mechanisms to support these goals.
A key item on the agenda was the launch of a new initiative to annually send 50 Uzbek students to pursue studies at Óbuda University. The proposal aims to contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists for Uzbekistan’s higher and vocational education sectors.
To support the initiative, both parties reviewed a draft agreement detailing the areas of study, admission processes, funding arrangements, and quota allocations, laying the groundwork for a formal and transparent partnership.
Daliyev emphasized the strategic and results-oriented nature of Uzbekistan’s cooperation with Hungary in the education sector, describing it as a partnership based on mutual trust and long-term benefit.
