Uzbekistan–UN Relations Enter New Phase Ahead of Independence Day

Since gaining independence, Uzbekistan has made collaboration with the United Nations a central focus of its foreign policy.

Over the years, relations between Uzbekistan and the UN have evolved into a comprehensive partnership, encompassing not only political dialogue but also cooperation in economic, social, and environmental areas, The Caspian Post reports citing Uzbek media.

Joint programs aimed at implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, strengthening human rights, and advancing education and healthcare have yielded tangible results.

On the eve of Independence Day, a video conversation was held with Sabine Machl, the UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan, shedding light on new aspects of international cooperation.

The official emphasized, “As an international organization, we also pay great attention to the humanitarian reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan. This fully corresponds to the Sustainable Development Goals, as people’s interests are at the center of them. It is necessary to create an environment where everyone can develop their talents, receive quality education, and live a healthy life. At the same time, it is also important to preserve our planet”.
