A fire broke out at a warehouse in Tashkent’s Yashnabad district, according to the press service of the Uzbek Main Directorate of Emergency Situations.
Videos of the incident, showing a large plume of black smoke rising into the air, had earlier circulated on social media, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
The fire was reported to have started near the Gumbaz building materials market in the Kuylyuk district.
According to official information, the fire was reported at 5:05 PM on April 29. Emergency response teams arrived at the scene at 5:08 PM and immediately began efforts to contain and extinguish the blaze.
The fire was brought under control by 5:30 PM and fully extinguished by 5:47 PM. The Main Directorate of Emergency Situations stated that monitoring of the site is ongoing.
No casualties have been reported as a result of the incident.
