Uzbekistan has climbed two positions in the 2025 Global Peace Index (GPI), ranking 67th out of 163 countries.
The index, which evaluates societal safety, internal and external conflicts, and militarization across 23 indicators, identifies Kazakhstan as the most peaceful nation in Central Asia at 56th place, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Kyrgyzstan ranked 78th, Tajikistan 79th.
On a global scale, Iceland, Ireland, and New Zealand occupy the top spots, while Ukraine and Russia are at the bottom, in 162nd and 163rd positions. The US ranked 128th.
The report warns of a declining global stability trend, noting that the risk of large-scale military conflicts is now at its highest level since World War II, with 59 active armed conflicts ongoing worldwide.
