Kazakh Cinema Takes Center Stage in Azerbaijan

The Month of Kazakh Cinema is underway in Baku, Azerbaijan, showcasing the richness of Kazakhstan’s film industry.

The cinematic program opened with “Dos Mukassan”, directed by Aidyn Sakhaman, which chronicles the story of the legendary music ensemble that played a key role in the evolution of Kazakh pop music, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

“Moshenniki” (Hustlers) by Olzhas Nurbai addressed widespread scams and highlighted the importance of raising public awareness. The event concluded with the historical epic “The Kazakh Khanate (The Golden Throne)”, depicting the 15th-century emergence of the Kazakh Khanate under Kerey and Zhanibek Khans.

Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, along with members of the intelligentsia, diplomatic corps, and media, attended the event. In his address, Ambassador Bayel praised the achievements of Kazakh cinema and highlighted growing interest in historical studies in both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

“Filming historical movies in our countries not only fosters cultural dialogue but also preserves our shared Turkic identity,” Bayel said.

He also revealed plans for a joint Kazakh-Azerbaijani film project to further strengthen cultural ties between the two nations.

The celebrations featured performances by Azerbaijani musicians and singers, adding vibrant national colors and a lively atmosphere to the event.

A series of additional activities aimed at promoting cultural exchange and enhancing humanitarian cooperation will continue throughout the Month of Kazakh Cinema in Baku.
