Uzbekistan Revises Charges for Foreign Oversized Vehicle Transit

Uzbekistan’s government has approved updated tariff rates for foreign heavy and oversized vehicles crossing the country.

The revised fees are determined by how much a vehicle’s actual weight exceeds the legally permitted limits, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The new structure aims to regulate road usage more effectively and manage infrastructure impact from overweight transport.

According to the Ministry of Justice, amendments and additions have been introduced to certain resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers.

In particular, the fees for foreign heavy and oversized vehicles moving across Uzbekistan have been revised.

From now on, if the actual mass of a vehicle exceeds the permitted limit, the following tariffs per kilometer of road will apply:

• 0-5 tons - 0.08% of the base calculation unit (BCU)

• 5-10 tons - 0.12%

• 10-15 tons - 0.24%

• 15-20 tons - 0.42%

• 20-25 tons - 0.63%

• 25-30 tons - 0.97%

• 30-35 tons - 1.39%

• 35-40 tons - 1.94%

• 40-45 tons - 2.66%

• 45-50 tons - 3.59%

• Over 50 tons - 4.22%

In addition, new fees have been set for reviewing applications, approving routes, and issuing permits for the movement of heavy and oversized vehicles:

• Up to 100 km - 54% of the BCU (previously $25)

• For each subsequent kilometer - 0.24% of the BCU (previously $0.11)
