Uzbekistan to Boost Oilseed Crop Cultivation

The Government of Uzbekistan has adopted Resolution No. 438, dated July 14, 2025, on additional measures for the development of oilseed crop cultivation in the country.

The resolution approved the districts that will specialize in the production of oilseed seeds in the regions of the republic, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.

According to the document, based on the soil and climatic conditions of the regions, it is allowed to plant oilseed crops in the crop rotation system on irrigated agricultural lands up to 5% of the area.

Considering the impact of sunflower on soil fertility, after its cultivation on the main and repeated crops, the practice of sowing green manure crops and plowing before winter will be used.

Agreements between oil and fat processing enterprises and producers of products for the purchase of oilseed crops will be concluded through the Agroplatform information system.

Starting with the 2026 harvest, an accurate record of the area occupied by oilseed crops will be kept, and a scientifically based crop rotation system will be introduced on 500 hectares of these crops.
