Armenia and Germany have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the investigation of aviation accidents and incidents.
The document was signed by representatives of the Air Accident and Serious Incident Investigation Department of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia and the Federal Bureau of Aviation Accidents (BFU) of Germany, the press service of the Armenian Ministry reported on Facebook, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.
The cooperation is also aimed at improving civil aviation safety and preventing aviation accidents. It is noted that the German BFU will provide support to Armenia, as needed and within its capabilities, including through the use of equipment necessary for aviation investigations, the decoding and analysis of flight data and audio recordings on board aircraft, the provision of technical laboratory services, and professional support in the areas of airworthiness, air navigation services, and aerodrome operations.
This cooperation also contributes to the implementation of Point 75 of the RA Government Action Plan for 2021-2026, namely, strengthening the institutional capacity of the authorized state body to conduct professional investigations of aviation accidents and serious incidents and aligning its activities with international standards.
